As a key node of the Xuzhou Third Ring South Road Rapid Transformation Project, the intersection project of the Third Ring South Road and the Beijing-Shanghai Railway (formerly the Third Ring South Road Bridge over the Beijing-Shanghai Railway), which has attracted much public attention, is progressing smoothly. Currently, 2 bored piles and 87 foundation pit retaining piles have been completed. According to the plan, the project will be completed before the end of this year, when the entire Third Ring South Road expressway will be fully open to traffic.
On the morning of January 10, the demolition of the original Third Ring South Road Bridge over the Beijing-Shanghai Railway was fully completed, and pile foundation construction has begun on the site.
At present, the bridge project over the Beijing-Shanghai Railway has completed 2 bored piles and 87 foundation pit retaining piles. The pile foundation work of this project has been fully launched. More than 10 pieces of machinery for pile foundation have been mobilized, and more than 50 workers for pile foundation have been on site and have all completed pre-job training. Rebar and concrete are adequately supplied, providing material guarantee for a major construction scene. With the normal progress of pile foundation work, the bidding for the bridge and culvert substructure work team has been completed. It is planned that the work teams will enter the site one after another by the end of this month, and the camp and preliminary preparations will be completed before the Spring Festival.
The intersection project of the Third Ring South Road Rapid Transformation and the Beijing-Shanghai Railway is located in Quanshan District, Xuzhou City. The main line new viaduct crosses Fuxing Road, the Beijing-Shanghai Railway and the planned secondary trunk road. The ground level has a two-way six-lane plus pedestrian and non-motorized auxiliary road system passing under the Beijing-Shanghai Railway, and auxiliary roads are set up to form T-shaped at-grade intersections with the planned Fuxing Road and the planned secondary trunk road respectively.
The existing old bridge over the Beijing-Shanghai Railway retains the five-span continuous unit (the second unit) that crosses the railway, and the remaining approach bridge parts are demolished. The retained old bridge part will be used as a sidewalk, and new pedestrian overpasses and stairways will be built in the four quadrants for pedestrians to cross the railway. The intersection mileage of the overpass bridge and the underpass frame bridge with the Beijing-Shanghai downline is K808+162.3 meters, located between Xuzhou Station and Gaojiaying Station. According to the plan, the project will be completed before the end of this year, when the entire Third Ring South Road expressway will be fully open to traffic.
