创新研发模式
在潍柴，创新被看做是一个系统工程，不仅是技术创新，还包括理念创新、体制机制创新，由此综合而成自主创新能力。“自主创新是科学发展观的具体体现，也是国家大力倡导企业开展的工作。中国企业作为自主创新的主体，能不能肩负起这个使命，关键是看能不能提升自主创新能力。”潍柴控股集团董事长谭旭光这样表达对自主创新的认识。他认为培育企业自主创新能力比产品研发本身更重要。
潍柴不仅在产品技术上不断创新，打造了一系列具有自主知识产权的产品，还创造性地提出了“以我为主，链合创新”的研发模式，从产业链及研发体系上进行创新，取得了可喜成果。
