近日，杭州至温州铁路杭州至义乌段（杭温铁路二期）初步设计获得浙江省发展和改革委员会批复。
该项目为设计时速350公里的客运专线，线路自湖杭铁路桐庐东站引出，金华市浦江县、义乌市，终点引入义乌站，新建正线全长59公里，其中杭州市境内20公里，沿线设桐庐东站、浦江站、义乌站（既有）3座客运车站。概算总额约 95亿元，工期3.5年。
杭州至温州铁路杭州至义乌段是国家高速铁路网主骨架京沪杭、商合杭铁路的南延线，也是苏皖至海西、粤东地区的便捷通道，是长三角城际铁路网的重要组成部分，是一条以路网功能为主兼顾城际功能的快速客运通道。项目建设能够有效完善国家高速铁路运输网、增强区域干线高速铁路网，构建浙江省“1小时交通圈”，并与杭温铁路一期（义乌至温州段）形成杭州与温州间最快捷的通道，对满足沿线交通出行增长需求、实现旅游资源开发、促进社会经济发展具有重要意义。
目前，已完成站前工程施工图审查，计划三季度开工建设。
