▲Mazhou Bridge has started steel girder erection
On January 17, the reporter learned from the construction contractor of the Mazhou Bridge project that the bridge has begun erecting steel girders. The connection between the north interchange and Beijiangbin Road is expected to be completed around May this year, and the main structure will be completed before the end of 2020.
It is understood that the Mazhou Bridge is a key project of Section A3 of the East Ring City Road. The bridge spans the Jiulong River, connecting Longwen and Longhai. It is a continuous five-span steel box arch bridge with a total length of 420 meters. The main span of the main bridge is about 150 meters long, and the designed deck width is 56.6 meters, with 10 lanes in both directions and a design speed of 60 km/h.
Section A3 of the East Ring City Road starts from Caiban Village in the north and ends at Mazhou Village in the south, with a total length of 1.68 kilometers. It consists of the North Jiangbin Interchange, South Jiangbin Interchange, Yingbin Interchange, and a main bridge crossing the Jiulong River. Within the section, 90% of the work is elevated bridges, with a bridge length of 4.3 kilometers. At present, all pile foundations in this section have been completed, 80% of the pile caps and pier shafts have been completed, and 40% of the superstructure has been completed. Construction of the superstructures of all three interchanges has been launched. Among them, only the last unit of box girder casting for the ramp bridge of the North Jiangbin Interchange remains. The connection between the north interchange and Beijiangbin Road is expected to be completed around May this year. The full connection of the two ramps with Beijiangbin Road will lay a solid foundation for the construction of the main bridge and steel girder erection.
At present, the Mazhou Bridge has started erecting steel girders, and the main structure is expected to be completed before the end of 2020.
According to the introduction, the design concept of the main bridge is that Zhangzhou is the birthplace of the "Maritime Silk Road," so the entire bridge is a five-span continuous steel box arch bridge in the form of a floating ribbon. "Section A3 of the East Ring City Road is expected to be completed in April 2021, when it will connect with Beijiangbin Road, Nanjiangbin Road Interchange, and Tongcheng Avenue, providing a large-capacity, high-speed north-south corridor for Zhangzhou's urban area. It will play an extremely important role in connecting Zhangzhou's national and provincial trunk lines, achieving route diversion, and optimizing the urban traffic environment."
