12月25日，平塘至罗甸高速公路平塘特大桥段交工验收会在贵州省平塘县召开，会议宣布同意平塘特大桥交工验收，预计12月30日正式通车。
平塘特大桥于2016年4月开工建设，总投资约15亿元，是平塘至罗甸高速公路的控制性工程。大桥全长2135米，为三塔双索面叠合梁斜拉桥，采用钻石形空间塔设计，从斜侧面来看，就像三颗巨型“钻石”矗立在峡谷之间。其中，位于中间的16号桥塔净高达到了332米，相当于110层楼高，是世界最高钢筋混凝土桥塔。
随着平塘特大桥的打通，平塘到罗甸的通行时间将从2个半小时缩短至1个小时，成为横向连接贵州南部的交通要道，大桥两岸村民通行时间将由原来的1小时缩短到3分钟，有利地助推了贵州南部喀斯特山区的脱贫攻坚和经济发展。
