On the morning of June 26, a press conference was held for the rollout of the first train for Foshan Urban Rail Transit Line 2.
The car body of the first train for Foshan Metro Line 2 arrived from Qingdao at the CRRC Foshan base in January this year for assembly. After more than five months, it rolled off the production line on schedule a few days ago.
Liang Zhuhua said that Line 2 is the first metro line independently operated by Foshan. The rollout of the first train today marks that this train can be delivered for testing and commissioning.
A single train on Foshan Metro Line 2 consists of six cars, two more than the Guangfo Line metro. The entire train is 120 meters long, 3.8 meters high and about 2.9 meters wide, with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour. The train is equipped with SDB-120 bogies rated for 120 kilometers per hour, giving the train better stability when negotiating curves and uneven routes. The lightweight car body made of welded hollow aluminum alloy profiles makes Line 2 more energy-efficient and low-carbon during operation.
The Line 2 train adopts multiple environmental protection technologies, and the car body surface and interior decoration use water-based environmentally friendly spray painting technology. Each car is equipped with two air conditioners as well as air purification and sterilization devices, which can keep the air fresh when there are many passengers. The interior features full LED light strips, and the LED lights can automatically adjust their brightness according to the outdoor light conditions.
The first phase of the Foshan Metro Line 2 project is 32.41 kilometers long, passing through Nanzhuang, Shiwan and Kuiqi Road, crossing the Dongping Waterway, Fochen Road, Wenden Road, Linyue Road and Chencun Waterway to Guangzhou South Railway Station. It has a total of 17 stations and 34 stops.
It is understood that the construction of Foshan Metro Line 2 has entered a critical countdown stage, and trial passenger operation is expected to be achieved in September 2021.
