"The China-Singapore (Chongqing) Connectivity Initiative 'Land-Sea New Corridor' is a major strategic project promoted by the state, and we hope that the Qijiang Comprehensive Service Area can be incorporated into the relevant development strategic plan." At this year's municipal Two Sessions, Mu Mingjiang, member of the Municipal CPPCC and chairman of the Qijiang District CPPCC, brought forward a related proposal.
Mu Mingjiang introduced that Qijiang has now formed a "seven vertical and three horizontal" transportation network, with geographical advantages of running through the east and west, connecting the south and north, and reaching the sea via rivers, as well as transportation advantages such as expressways and high-speed rail. It has favorable conditions for undertaking the construction of the Qijiang Comprehensive Service Area of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Connectivity Initiative "Land-Sea New Corridor." The construction of the Qijiang Comprehensive Service Area is also conducive to promoting the integrated development of Qijiang and Wansheng.
"The China-Singapore (Chongqing) Connectivity Initiative 'Land-Sea New Corridor' is an important pillar of the inland international logistics distribution center. As an important node in the construction of Chongqing's southbound corridor, Qijiang has the conditions, possibility, and necessity to become an important support point of Chongqing's inland international logistics distribution center." Mu Mingjiang suggested that the Municipal Government Port Office could include the Qijiang sub-center in the overall planning, coordinated planning, and unified construction of the inland international logistics distribution center. The Municipal Transportation Commission should support the construction of marshalling stations and freight yards, build important personnel and logistics distribution bases, and better serve the construction of the Qijiang Comprehensive Service Area of the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Connectivity Initiative "Land-Sea New Corridor."
