The Second Session of the 13th Shaanxi Provincial People's Congress, which closed on the afternoon of the 31st, voted to approve the "Report on the Implementation of the 2018 National Economic and Social Development Plan of Shaanxi Province and the 2019 National Economic and Social Development Plan". The reporter learned that 117 provincial key construction projects in Shaanxi will start in 2019, with a total investment of over 748.9 billion yuan. These include a batch of major projects related to Xi'an's long-term development and people's livelihood, such as the Phase III project of Xi'an Metro Line 1, Metro Line 8, Metro Line 14, and the Xi'an-Shiyan high-speed railway.

Xi'an Metro Line 8 to start construction

Among the 117 provincial key construction projects, there are 3 metro projects, all in Xi'an, including Metro Line 1 (Phase III), Metro Line 8, and Metro Line 14.

For Xi'an Metro Line 1 (Phase III), a new 10.5-kilometer metro line from Qindu Station to Forest Park will be built, all underground, using B-type trains, with 7 stations. The construction period is 2019-2023, with a total investment of 7.338 billion yuan and an investment of 1.5 billion yuan in 2019. Upon completion, Xi'an Metro Line 1 (Phase III) will connect the central area of Xi'an with the central area of Xianyang, greatly facilitating citizens' travel and integrating Xianyang into the comprehensive transportation system of Greater Xi'an.

Xi'an Metro Line 8 will build a new 50-kilometer loop line, all underground, using A-type trains, with 35 stations, and one depot and one parking lot. The construction period is 2019-2023; the total investment is 38.572 billion yuan; and the investment in 2019 is 7.7 billion yuan. Metro Line 8 is the only loop line in Xi'an's rail transit network, which will make transfers more convenient for citizens and is also the most anticipated metro line.

Xi'an Metro Line 14 will build a new 13.8-kilometer metro line from North Railway Station to Heshao Village, all underground, using B-type trains, with 8 stations and one parking lot. The construction period is 2019-2021; the total investment is 8.521 billion yuan; and the investment in 2019 is 2.8 billion yuan.

Xi'an-Kangzhou, Xi'an-Shiyan, and Yan'an-Yulin high-speed railways to open in 2023

The Xi'an-Kangzhou high-speed railway (Xi'an-Ankang) is located in Xi'an, Shangluo, and Ankang cities, with a total length of 170.2 kilometers and a construction period of 2019-2023. The total investment of the project is 34.25 billion yuan, with an investment of 300 million yuan in 2019. The construction content includes land acquisition and demolition, as well as subgrade, bridge, and tunnel construction.

The Xi'an-Shiyan high-speed railway (Xi'an-Shiyan) is located in Xi'an and Shangluo cities, with a new 166-kilometer high-speed railway from Xi'an to Shiyan and a construction period of 2019-2023. The total investment of the project is 43.5 billion yuan, with an investment of 800 million yuan in 2019. The construction content includes land acquisition and demolition, as well as subgrade, bridge, and tunnel construction.

The Yan'an-Yulin high-speed railway (Yan'an-Yulin) is located in Yan'an and Yulin cities, with a new 238-kilometer high-speed railway and a construction period of 2019-2023. The total investment of the project is 42.6 billion yuan, with an investment of 200 million yuan in 2019. The construction content includes land acquisition and demolition, as well as subgrade, bridge, and tunnel construction.

Xixian International Airport Expansion Project (Phase III) to build 3 new runways

The Xi'an Xianyang International Airport Expansion Project (Phase III) will build 3 new runways, an east terminal, and other related facilities, with a construction period of 2019-2022. The total investment of the project is 45 billion yuan, with an investment of 1 billion yuan in 2019. The construction content is land acquisition and demolition. The Xi'an Xianyang International Airport apron expansion project will build a new apron of about 224,000 square meters, with 24C (12E) aircraft stands. The construction period is 2019, and the total investment of the project is 496.67 million yuan.
