On January 22, the main structure of Yantian Road Station, the largest-span station on Shenzhen Metro Line 8, was successfully capped, marking that the works in this contract section have gradually entered the construction wrap-up phase.

　　It is reported that Yantian Road Station is located at the intersection of Yantian Road and Donghai Avenue. It is a three-track station with one island platform and one side platform, with a total length of 336 meters and a standard section width of 44 meters. It is the longest station on the entire line and the widest station among the metro stations already opened in Shenzhen, with a total area equivalent to 2.5 football fields. The station adopts a double-deck, three-column, four-span box structure, with 9 entrances and exits, and is constructed using the open-cut sequential method. The geological environment in the construction section is complex, mostly slightly weathered granite, and it is close to residential areas. Construction is difficult and high-risk, and safety and quality accidents are highly likely.

　　To ensure the normal schedule of the milestone, the project department planned in advance and overcame difficulties. It conducted more than 20 scheme discussions with the Yantian District Government, the Metro Group and multiple other participating units. Relying on a reasonable construction scheme, the work face was expanded to ensure no time was wasted in process connection, and processes such as earthwork excavation, steel support erection and construction blasting were carried out simultaneously. Under the premise of ensuring construction safety protection, a record of completing 8 main structure slabs in one month was achieved during the peak period, with 2,400 cubic meters of structural concrete poured in a single pour, 7,500 cubic meters of concrete poured and 1,600 tons of rebar tied in a single month, equivalent to completing 0.5 of a standard station.

　　It is reported that the completion of the main structure construction of Yantian Road Station marks that the works in this contract section have gradually entered the construction wrap-up phase. As the temporary terminus of Phase I of Metro Line 8, the transfer station between Phase I and Phase II, and a transfer station with other lines planned for the long term, Yantian Road Station plays an important hub role in connecting the Dameisha and Xiaomeisha tourist areas, developing surrounding areas and linking other lines in Yantian District.
