On August 25, at the metro construction site located at the intersection of Nanjing South Street and Changbai Middle Road in Shenyang, the reporter observed that concrete pouring had begun for the first base slab of the main structure at Changbai Island Station on Shenyang Metro Line 4. This marks the official start of main structure construction at the station. The main structure of Changbai Island Station is expected to be topped out by the end of November.
According to the project manager, the 12th civil construction contract section of Phase I of Shenyang Metro Line 4, undertaken by China Railway Tunnel Group, includes one station and one running tunnel section: Changbai Island Station and the section from Changbai North Station to Changbai Island Station. Changbai Island Station is an underground two-level, three-span island-platform structure with a total length of 213 meters and a standard section width of 22.5 meters. The running tunnel section lies between Changbai Middle Road and Changbai North Road, with a total length of 1,825.72 meters, and will be constructed using shield tunneling. To raise safety awareness among construction personnel and ensure safe, efficient, and orderly construction, the Contract 12 project department has also equipped a "VR and Multimedia Safety Experience Center." Through simulated perception for each worker, it achieves the effect of safety training and education and provides a guarantee for safe production.
At present, construction on Line 4 is progressing smoothly. Among the stations, the main structure construction at Chengjian College Station and Shenyang South Railway Station has been completed, and two other interchange stations are being built concurrently with Lines 9 and 10. Eight stations—Wanghua Street Station, Laodong Road Station, Wanghuatun Station, Guanquan Road Station, Changbai Island Station, Wangshitun Station, Shanghe Village Station, and Hongchun Road Station—have completed main structure enclosure construction, and five of them are currently undergoing main structure construction.
