Recently, the 200m demonstration section of the Meixihu International New City Phase II Utility Tunnel Project has been completed. To date, a total of 13.595km of the utility tunnel main body (including 2.374km of sewage tunnel) has been constructed.
In addition to installing water supply pipes, communication conduits, and various monitoring facilities, the utility tunnel also features a 'motor vehicle lane' for maintenance vehicles and a 'pedestrian walkway' for repair personnel.
As the data aggregation and monitoring center for the entire utility tunnel, the control center can monitor equipment within the tunnel comprehensively and around the clock, promptly detecting and locating potential hazards. Currently, the main structure of the control center has been completed.

On August 21, the reporter learned from Hunan Xiangjiang New Area Development Group Co., Ltd. (referred to as 'Xiangjiang Group') that the 200m demonstration section of the Meixihu International New City Phase II Utility Tunnel Project (referred to as the 'Utility Tunnel Project') has been completed, and a total of 13.595km of the utility tunnel main body (including 2.374km of sewage tunnel) has been constructed.
The demonstration section of the utility tunnel project is located east of the control center in the middle section of Yinghua Road. It serves exhibition and display functions. This section incorporates advanced technologies such as smart cables and an environmental monitoring platform, and is equipped with facilities including an environmental monitoring system, video surveillance system, intrusion alarm system, and wireless wifi system.
Compared with four months ago, the interior of the demonstration section has undergone earth-shaking changes. Water supply pipes, gas pipes, and other pipelines, as well as security and communication systems, have all been installed. The utility tunnel has transformed directly from a 'roughcast' to a 'finely decorated' state, just waiting for water, electricity, gas, and other utilities to 'move in'. For a long time, the various pipelines that caused problems such as 'aerial spider webs' and 'zipper roads' have been condensed into the 'belly' of the utility tunnel, forming this standardized, orderly, clean, and tidy underground lifeline.
After walking inside the utility tunnel for a while, the reporter found that compared with four months ago, the entire tunnel has taken on a completely new look. Pipelines and various equipment are installed in an orderly manner. Well-equipped ventilation devices are installed at short intervals inside the tunnel, making walking easy and the temperature and air comfortable. In addition to installing water supply pipes, communication conduits, and various monitoring facilities, the utility tunnel also features a 'motor vehicle lane' for maintenance vehicles and a 'pedestrian walkway' for repair personnel. Workers can either drive maintenance vehicles into the tunnel from the control center's maintenance vehicle entrance or enter on foot, conducting a full 'physical examination' of the tunnel on schedule.
With so many pipelines living together, will safety be guaranteed? Technical personnel told the reporter that, in fact, relying on the integrated security and communication system installed in the utility tunnel, various pipelines are safer, line maintenance is more convenient, safety issues are detected more promptly, and repairs are more accurate.
Although the demonstration section is full of 'high-tech', the control center is the 'most powerful brain' of this project. As the data aggregation and monitoring center for the entire utility tunnel, the control center can monitor equipment within the tunnel comprehensively and around the clock, promptly detecting and locating potential hazards. Currently, the main structure of the control center has been completed, just waiting for various equipment and instruments to move in, to ensure the safe and orderly operation of the entire utility tunnel.
