　　Looking back over these five years, from the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor spanning thousands of miles to the China-Europe freight trains connecting Asia, Africa and Europe, from the completion and opening of the Mombasa-Nairobi Railway to the official opening of Gwadar Port, from the opening and operation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank to the fruitful results of the Silk Road Fund, upholding the Silk Road spirit of “peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning and mutual benefit,” the “Belt and Road” construction has yielded fruitful results and attracted increasing global attention.
　　The “Belt and Road” is a path of peace featuring “equality and mutual benefit.” Over the past five years, more than 100 countries and international organizations have signed cooperation documents with China on jointly building the “Belt and Road,” and the initiative and its core concepts have been incorporated into the outcome documents of important international mechanisms such as the United Nations, the G20, APEC and the SCO. History and reality both prove that the “Belt and Road” Initiative proposed by China conforms to the trend of world peace and development. It binds the countries of the world into “one rope” to build a community with a shared future for mankind, with all countries enjoying equality and mutual benefit. It not only demonstrates China's strong international influence, appeal and leadership, but also makes peace the most solid underlying color of “Belt and Road” construction.
　　The “Belt and Road” is a path of prosperity featuring “cooperation and development.” The U.S. Huffington Post predicted that “Belt and Road” construction is expected to lead more than 60 percent of the world's population toward unprecedented cohesion and prosperity. With policy coordination, facilities connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration and people-to-people bonds as its core content, “Belt and Road” construction conforms to the trend of the times, adapts to the laws of development and serves the interests of the people of all countries. Precisely because of this, the “Belt and Road” shows vigorous vitality and bright development prospects, and is leading the whole world toward common prosperity with an open and shared stance.
　　The “Belt and Road” is a path of openness featuring “mutual benefit.” Peace, development, cooperation and win-win results have become the main theme of our times. Over the past five years, the “Belt and Road” Initiative has been transformed from a vision into reality. With its actual development results, it has won the trust and support of more and more countries and international organizations, injected new vitality into the realization of common development and prosperity in the world, “added bricks and tiles” to world economic development, and given the people of the countries along the routes an increasing sense of tangible gain and happiness. Only by adhering to the path of openness featuring “mutual benefit” can China advance steadily on the broad road of reform and create infinite possibilities.
　　“The vast journey has no bounds; set sail and trust the wind.” Looking back at the past and looking forward to the future, history and practice have proven that the “Belt and Road,” which carries on history and opens up the future, is the correct path of development.
