On March 1, news from the Xiangxi Yangtze River Highway Bridge project department indicated that this year's main construction goals are “bridge closure, full line connectivity, and launch of Phase III,” with total investment expected to reach 450 million yuan.
It is understood that the arch ribs of the Xiangxi Yangtze River Bridge will be closed on May 9 this year, and the steel main girder will be closed on November 10; the east bank main tower of the Xiangxi River Bridge will be topped out on May 15, and the main girder will be closed on December 30. Full line connectivity means the T-girder erection of the Lingguantai Bridge will be completed before December 1; the entire Wujiagou Tunnel and the ancillary works of the Sanchagou Bridge will be completed before October 1; and the “five bridges and one tunnel” will achieve connectivity before the end of December. At present, the project company has launched the construction and supervision bidding for Phase III works, and construction of related projects will start within the year.
On the same day, Zixing Company held a special meeting, requiring participating units to strengthen the awareness of the “red line of safety production,” highlight risk prevention and pre-control and hidden danger investigation and governance, and use the creation of “safe construction sites” and “quality projects” as leverage to consolidate the foundation of safety work and improve safety management. The focus is on properly resolving the payment and fulfillment of migrant workers' wages, providing safety guarantees for the smooth progress of the Xiangxi Yangtze River Highway Bridge construction.
