The reporter learned from the recent Wuhu Housing and Urban-Rural Development Work Promotion Meeting that in the coming years, Wuhu's housing and urban-rural development will follow the “four major overall approaches” and accomplish the “five major goals” to improve the quality and efficiency of housing and urban-rural development and enhance the people's sense of gain.

In the transportation sector, in accordance with Wuhu's six-year transportation improvement plan, with the urban expressway network plan as the guide, preliminary project work will be strengthened and urban expressway network construction will be advanced, with the urban expressway network system basically completed by 2020. Construction of the ancient city will be actively advanced; by 2020, the first phase of the ancient city will be completed, the Huajie and Nanmenwan distinctive commercial streets will open and operate, and the second phase of the ancient city will be fully launched. Preliminary research on Urban Rail Transit Line 3 will be carried out, and construction of Phase I of Urban Rail Transit Line 2 and Line 1 will be accelerated. By 2020, Line 1 and Phase I of Line 2 will be completed and put into operation, and construction of Rail Transit Line 3 will begin.
