On February 23, the eighth day of the first lunar month, with the festive atmosphere of the Chinese New Year still lingering, Anyang City held the concentrated commencement ceremony for major projects in the first quarter of 2018. A total of 89 key projects broke ground simultaneously, with a total investment of 56.95 billion yuan, including 79 projects each worth over 100 million yuan.
The concentrated commencement ceremony was held at the Guangrun Industrial Park in Andong New Area, Anyang City. Four excavators stood “ready for action.” At the command to “start construction,” shovels lifted soil and pile drivers started up as the foundations were laid for the Anyang Fulongma Sanitation Equipment Production Base and the BYD Intelligent Terminal and Components Project. On the same day, commencement sub-venues set up in Linzhou, Neihuang, Tangyin and other cities (counties and districts) proceeded in parallel.
It is understood that this year Anyang City is focusing on key areas and weak links such as infrastructure, urban quality improvement, industrial transformation, innovation-driven development, ecological and environmental protection, and rural poverty alleviation, and has planned to implement nearly 1,000 key projects with a total investment of about 150 billion yuan. Among the projects commencing construction in this concentrated batch, there are 44 provincial and municipal key projects. The Jinyi Culture Gold and Jewelry Industry project, with an investment of 5 billion yuan, is the largest in terms of investment. In terms of project categories, they cover industry, social undertakings, the service sector, urban construction and environmental protection, agriculture, forestry and water conservancy, and other fields. Examples include the integral steel-tube hot-expanded axle for new heavy-duty trucks, the Aviation Sports Service Complex of Anyang Dongfei Aviation Sports City Construction and Development Co., Ltd., the road project for the quality improvement of the Anyang Demonstration Zone, the Henan Wanbang Agricultural Products Logistics Park, and the Anyang Robot Demonstration Factory of the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. These projects involve large investments and have an optimized structure, and will inject new strong momentum into the city's economic and social development.
