On February 6, the pile foundation pouring for the No. 11 main pier of the Nanming River Grand Bridge on the Handan section of the Taihang Mountains Expressway was completed, marking the completion of pouring for all main pier pile foundations of the rotating bridge on the Handan section of the Taihang Mountains Expressway. This laid the foundation for the subsequent smooth rotating construction of the rotating bridge and played a key role in promoting the goal of ensuring the Handan section achieves full-line opening to traffic by the end of 2018.
　　The Nanming River Grand Bridge is located northwest of Shilidian Village, Wu'an City, Handan. With a total length of 1,876.5 meters, it consists of 13 units and 45 spans. It is the longest bridge on the Handan section of the Taihang Mountains Expressway and one of the key control projects. The bridge has 45 piers, among which Piers No. 9, No. 10 (the main bridge piers of the rotating bridge), and No. 11 are 2×67-meter prestressed rotating T-structures, 134 meters long, with a rotating weight of 13,000 tons. Because it needs to cross over the Handan-Changzhi Railway, the design department studied the matter and adopted the rotating bridge construction scheme.
　　It is reported that the rotating bridge entered construction in October 2017. However, due to the large undulations in terrain, with terraced fields mostly on both sides, land acquisition progress lagged. At the same time, due to the impact of earlier pipeline relocation, pile foundation construction progress lagged behind the planned schedule by 3 months. However, through the unremitting efforts of the construction unit, construction was ultimately completed according to the time node.
　　According to the construction schedule, the rotating bridge is planned to be rotated in July 2018 and complete all construction tasks in August. The Taihang Mountains Expressway as a whole will open to traffic by the end of the year.
