In 2018, the province's railway construction investment is expected to reach 25 billion yuan, striving to build an international transportation hub facing South and Southeast Asia.
　　During the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, Yunnan, following the "eight outbound provincial and five outbound international" Yunnan railway network plan, will comprehensively build five outbound international railway corridors, as well as eight high-capacity outbound provincial railway corridors: Chengdu-Kunming, Neijiang-Kunming, Shanghai-Kunming, Nanning-Kunming, Shanghai-Kunming Passenger Dedicated Line, Yunnan-Guangxi, Chongqing-Kunming and Yunnan-Tibet. Yunnan's railway construction projects and investment have remained at a high level; in 2017, the province completed a total railway construction investment of 20.73 billion yuan.
　　At present, Yunnan has a total of 14 railway projects, including the Yuxi-Mohan Railway, Dali-Ruili Railway, Dali-Lincang Railway and the Guangtong-Dali Railway capacity expansion and renovation project, with a construction mileage of 2,600 kilometers. All construction projects are being stepped up. Among them, the Yuxi-Mohan Railway, the domestic section of the China-Laos International Railway, has completed an investment of 17.81 billion yuan so far, accounting for 35.2% of the total investment.
　　Within this year, projects including the Mi-Meng Railway, the capacity expansion and renovation of the existing Guangtong-Dali Railway, the speed increase of the Dali-Lijiang Railway and the renovation of Dali Station will also start, further improving the Yunnan railway network. It is expected that in the next five years, the province's railway operating mileage will reach 5,000 kilometers, and the mileage of existing and under-construction railways will reach 8,000 kilometers.
