On the 5th, the downstream section of Branch Tunnel 2 to the upstream section of Branch Tunnel 3 of Contract C3 (Luodong to Xiafeng Section) and the downstream section of Branch Tunnel 4 to the outlet section of Contract C5 (Hongmei to Huinü Section) of the Shanmei-Huinü Reservoir Connection Project were successively holed through, marking significant progress in the project's "40 Days of Intensive Work, Competing for a Good Start" campaign.
　　Since the beginning of this year, the project owner has strictly followed the deployment requirements of the municipal party committee and municipal government's "40 Days of Intensive Work, Competing for a Good Start" campaign, acted swiftly and precisely, constantly urged all construction contracts to reverse schedules, increase construction inputs, closely track key nodes, innovate construction incentive measures, and adhere to the "one meeting per day" system. While ensuring project quality and safety, they have raced against time to accelerate progress.
　　As of the 5th, the contracts under construction of the Shanmei-Huinü Reservoir Connection Project have completed a cumulative investment of 15.17 million yuan, ahead of schedule in fulfilling the planned investment task proposed in the "40 Days of Intensive Work, Competing for a Good Start" campaign.
　　The Shanmei-Huinü Reservoir Connection Project is an important water diversion project of the seven-reservoir connection project in Quanzhou City. In November 2015, the project started construction across seven contracts, with four water conveyance tunnel sections totaling 14.8 kilometers. As of early February this year, 11.82 kilometers of tunnel excavation had been completed, with about 3 kilometers remaining. Among them, the Xiafeng to Hongmei tunnel of Contract C2 and the Branch Tunnel 3 to outlet section of Contract C3 have already been holed through successively. One of the sections holed through this time, the 2.61-kilometer section from the downstream of Branch Tunnel 2 to the upstream of Branch Tunnel 3 of Contract C3, not only allows seepage water in the tunnel to flow directly by gravity to the Xiafeng portal, greatly reducing the pressure of pumping and drainage in the tunnel, but also facilitates simultaneous tunnel reinforcement and ensures construction safety.
