At 13:28 on January 27, with a clear whistle, the cross-bridge truss of the company's West Pipe Rack Hazard Remediation Project was slowly lowered into its predetermined position. The successful single-lift installation marks a new stage for the West Pipe Rack remediation. The truss spanning the No. 0 Road Bridge (truss 35XHJ-73~74), about 40 meters long and weighing 65.6 tons, crosses the Lianxi Road Bridge and is the largest truss in the regional construction. This bridge is the only route for employees' commuting, and construction is greatly affected by traffic, so the integral lifting construction method was adopted. Because the on-site construction areas are on No. 35 Road east of the pipe rack and the Lianxi Road prefabrication yard west of the pipe rack, and there are many obstacles such as high-voltage overhead cables between the road and the pipe rack, installation and lifting are difficult, which also brings many challenges to construction technical control and construction safety control.
To ensure high-quality and safe construction operations, the engineering department (project department) started early, held multiple coordination meetings with the local railway company, landscaping company and power company, and specially invited experts from Qingdao Safety Engineering Institute for full-process review. Taking weather and other factors into account, it formulated a proper safety plan in advance and adopted effective on-site safety protection measures.
On January 27, after the workers' all-night efforts, the truss reached the center of No. 0 Road in the early morning. “A 50-meter distance, 5.5 hours of continuous operation, and three moves in succession—we did not dare to be careless in any single step,” said Master Feng, a riveter-welder from Jian'an, who had by then worked through the night for nearly 8 hours. In this lifting operation, all practitioners fully carried forward the “four spirits” of project builders, upheld the fine style of “one family, one heart, one goal, one drive,” overcame numerous difficulties, and completed the lifting safely and with high quality in the shortest time, laying a solid foundation for subsequent construction and the early renewal of the West Pipe Rack.
