On January 28, with the completion of the last enclosure pile pouring, the main structure enclosure pile construction at Bianjiacun Station (Section 8) on Xi'an Metro Line 5, undertaken by China Railway No.5 Bureau Electrification & Urban Transit Co., was fully completed. This marks an important milestone victory in the project schedule, boosts the morale of all construction personnel, and indicates that Bianjiacun Station has entered the main structure construction phase.

　　The Section 8 project of Phase I of Xi'an Metro Line 5, undertaken by China Railway No.5 Bureau, includes two stations and two intervals: the Laodongnanlu Station–Bianjiacun Station interval (shield), Bianjiacun Station (semi-covered excavation), the Bianjiacun Station–Huangyancun Station interval (shield), and Huangyancun Station (semi-covered excavation). Among them, the two intervals are constructed by the shield method, and the two stations are constructed by the semi-covered cut-and-cover method. The semi-covered excavation method is the first of its kind in the metro civil engineering projects of Electrification & Urban Transit Co. The surrounding environment of this section is complex, with many pipelines and great difficulty in relocation, making it the section with the most complex pipelines on Line 5. Meanwhile, Bianjiacun Station is located at the intersection of Youyi West Road and Taibai North Road, arranged east-west along Youyi West Road, with dense high-rise buildings around. Youyi West Road is currently 50m wide, and Taibai North Road is 30m wide; they are two major arterial roads running east-west and north-south in the city, respectively, with heavy traffic pressure. Bianjiacun Station is known as the station with the most complex pipelines and the greatest traffic pressure among the 16 sections of Xi'an Metro Line 5, and is a schedule control point for the entire line.

　　In response to the special geographical location and complex underground pipeline conditions of Bianjiacun Station, since entering the site, the construction project department of China Railway No.5 Bureau has carried forward the spirit of “daring to leap forward and pursuing excellence”, strictly implemented “two standardizations” management, strengthened the basic work of the project, and aimed at “zero accidents in safety and zero defects in quality”. Without waiting or relying on others, they seized every opportunity, scientifically organized construction, and vigorously promoted project progress. Starting from strengthening basic project management and improving project management level, the project department improved the project management system, strengthened execution, and team members went deep into the site every day to guide construction technical work and investigate safety hazards. Departments, labor teams, and employees of the project department signed the “Safety and Quality Responsibility Agreement”, decomposed and implemented safety responsibility targets to each person, and sought benefits and progress from safe production. At the same time, the project department focused on on-site management, strengthened the preparation and disclosure of construction technical plans, strengthened safety and quality control at the construction site, and paid attention to civilized construction on site. The project department actively responded to the call of the local government, specially established a “Iron Hand Air Pollution Control” leading group, and strictly implemented “6 100%”, “7 in place”, and “13 measures” in on-site construction to ensure full coverage and no dust, making due contributions to environmental protection.

　　In addition, the project department also promoted construction production by strengthening grassroots party building work. During construction, they actively carried out party building theme practice activities and labor competition activities, established project party member vanguard teams and youth commando teams, appointed mass safety supervisors, set up youth safety posts, held safety knowledge and skills competitions for all staff, carried out “send coolness in summer, warmth in winter, and care at all times” condolence activities, and organized cultural and sports activities during holidays to build a home for employees, enhancing the cohesion and centripetal force of the project team and ensuring the rapid and orderly progress of construction production.

　　It is reported that since the start of construction, the Section 8 project department of China Railway No.5 Bureau on Xi'an Metro Line 5 has received multiple praises from the owner and other units in terms of station construction management, construction progress, and on-site civilized construction, and has received a collective on-site observation organized by Xi'an Metro Line 6, establishing a good reputation and image for the enterprise.
