On January 26, it was learned that the first domestic "combined-type" composite sleeper independently developed by Times New Material Technology under CRRC Zhuzhou Institute has successfully passed the full set of JIS E1203 Japanese standard tests, gained recognition from Taipei Metro, won the first batch order for the Tamsui Line composite sleeper maintenance project, and quickly completed delivery.

The difficulty coefficient of developing this batch of "combined-type" composite sleepers is far higher than that of the "integral-type" composite sleepers commonly used in China. The product can be flexibly installed in narrow tunnel spaces, greatly reducing installation workload. Composite sleepers were originally laid in turnout areas in Taiwan, some of which have reached their replacement age, with a market capacity of more than 10 million yuan per year.
Composite sleepers are made from continuous glass fiber reinforced polyurethane foam (abbreviated as FFU). They are an emerging lightweight, high-strength, and environmentally friendly type of sleeper with high cost performance and long service life, making them the best substitute for wooden and concrete sleepers. For a long time, the domestic and international markets for composite sleepers have been dominated by Japan's Sekisui Chemical. Times New Material Technology began exploring composite sleepers in 2007. Relying on its rich reserves in technological research and development and the track vibration reduction system field, it spent 10 years and successfully developed composite sleepers whose performance reaches the level of foreign competitors.

The supply of composite sleepers to Taipei Metro this time not only enriched Times New Material Technology's line product categories, but also laid a solid performance foundation for the company to enter the overseas composite sleeper market.
