In 2017, the city's expressway construction accelerated. The "one road, two bridges" under construction total 81 kilometers. The Shagong Expressway Guanyindang–Yangjiachang section, the Shishou Yangtze River Bridge and its connecting lines, and the Honghu–Jiayu Yangtze River Bridge project are advancing rapidly.

At the same time, the "three roads and one bridge" have started (or resumed) construction, totaling 202 kilometers: the Shagong Expressway Yangjiachang–Mengjiaxi section has completed trench excavation and line setting and construction-unit camp establishment, and is currently carrying out land acquisition and demolition and construction-drawing design approval, with control works to start in November; the Honghu–Chibi Yangtze River Bridge has completed preliminary design review and has begun pile foundation construction for the main tower; the Jianli–Jiangling Expressway east extension project has completed preliminary design review and is carrying out pre-construction preparations; the Jianli–Jianjiang Expressway has terminated the original investor's franchise agreement and completed bidding for a new investor, with control works resuming on October 28. The investment agreement for the Shanghai–Chongqing Expressway Baling interchange project has been signed, construction bidding is underway, and construction can start soon; the Jingzhou service area project has completed feasibility study review.

In addition, port, shipping and station projects are advancing in an orderly manner. The environmental impact assessment for the port master plan has passed review, and the "Jingzhou Port Master Plan" is about to be approved. Projects such as the second phase of the Cheyanghe wharf and the first phase of the Jingzhou coal storage and distribution base are progressing in an orderly manner; the feasibility study for the Songxi River waterway regulation project has been approved, the preliminary design has been submitted for review, and construction is strived to start soon. Four rectification campaigns are being carried out comprehensively for sand and gravel wharves, wharves in water source protection areas, wharves in nature reserves, and wharves in the central urban area, involving a total of 364 wharves, all of which were shut down by the end of September; 298 have been demolished, and the demolition task can be fully completed by the end of the year; construction of consolidation centers (points) in Jiangling, Gong'an and Shishou has started. The Jingyue Comprehensive Logistics Park, Shishou Logistics Center, Songzi Yangtze River Logistics Park and Songzi Jinsong Passenger Transport Station are accelerating construction, and the Yanka, Cheyanghe and Libu "port-industry-city" projects are advancing in an orderly manner.
