In the next five years, Anhui Province's expressway mileage in operation is expected to exceed 6,000 kilometers.
On the afternoon of January 22, the Economic Group of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) held a group meeting. As of now, Anhui Province's expressway mileage in operation stands at about 4,700 kilometers. Viewed against other central provinces, this mileage is not particularly large; several neighboring provinces surpassed Anhui in operating mileage last year, which means there is enormous room for expansion in Anhui's expressway construction. According to the plan, by the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, Anhui Province will achieve expressway access in every county, realize seamless connections between expressways and the ordinary road network, and further improve the smooth flow of river-crossing corridors and other links. Overall, in the next five years, Anhui Province's expressway mileage in operation is expected to exceed 6,000 kilometers, catching up with and surpassing neighboring provinces.
