On January 16, the reporter learned from the transportation department that the engineering survey and design project bidding for the Nanjing-Yancheng Expressway has been launched as of today. This means that there will be an additional fast corridor from Nanjing to Yancheng.

According to the bidding content, the Ningyan Expressway starts at the intersection of the Nanjing Ring Expressway and the planned Xianxin Road, extends in a northeast direction, passes through northwestern Yizheng and intersects with the Suyang Expressway, then continues, crosses Shaobo Lake and successively intersects with the planned Lianyungang-Huai'an-Yangzhou Railway and the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway, runs from west to east through southern Gaoyou and the south side of Xinghua urban area, crosses the Xing-Tai Expressway, and connects to the Yanjing Expressway. The total length of the route is about 123 kilometers. The estimated cost is about 15 billion yuan. At present, driving from Nanjing to Yancheng covers more than 260 kilometers and takes at least 3.5 hours. Once the Ningyan Expressway is completed, it will save considerable time and spatial distance.

The Provincial Transportation Engineering Construction Bureau also simultaneously announced the bidding for the feasibility study and survey and design project of the Yizheng-Lukou Airport Expressway. The bidding for engineering bidding agency services for the Xinyi-Jiangdu section expansion project of the Beijing-Shanghai Expressway was also launched on the same day. According to the previously released second environmental impact assessment public notice, the project is planned to start construction in July this year.
