On the morning of January 16, it was learned from the 2018 Zhangzhou Taiwanese Investment Zone Work Conference that the Zhangzhou (Jiaomei) extension of Xiamen Rail Transit Line 6 aims to start construction in August 2018.
Jiaomei is in a historical period full of opportunities. “We must seize opportunities, advance with the times, plan development from the height of the new era, upgrade development strategies, place subway development in a top priority position, implement the subway-driven strategy, and rely on the Zhangzhou (Jiaomei) extension of Xiamen Rail Transit Line 6 to drive the overall regional upgrade. We will make every effort to advance the preliminary work of the subway and strive to start construction in August 2018. We will optimize the land along the subway line, complete the regulatory planning, urban design, and integrated design of seven stations for the land along the line, enhance the development value of the core area, and maximize the benefits and radiating driving effects of the subway.”
It is understood that the Zhangzhou (Jiaomei) extension project of Xiamen Rail Transit Line 6 has a total length of about 9.99 kilometers, all underground, with 7 stations and an average station spacing of 1,549 meters. The maximum station spacing is 3,143 meters, between Shetou Station and Lindai West Station; the minimum station spacing is 825 meters, between Huzhong Road Station and Guishan Station. The entire line has one parking lot, the Shetou Parking Lot, connected to Jiaohai Road Station. The total investment of the project is 6,994.7532 million yuan.
The Zhangzhou (Jiaomei) extension of Xiamen Rail Transit Line 6 starts from Lindai West Road Station of the first phase of Xiamen Rail Transit Line 6, located in the Maluan Bay area of Haicang. The line runs underground westward along the planned Dongfu Road, passes under the Xiamen-Chengdu Expressway, then turns onto Wengjiao Road along the planned road and continues westward. Stations are set at the intersections of Haixiang Avenue, Jiaohai Road, and Jiaomei Avenue respectively. After that, the line turns south at the Shanshui Avenue intersection, passes Huguang Road, goes under the Huatian plot, and turns onto Jiaomei Avenue to continue south to the terminal Longjiang Mingzhu Station.
The final alignment, station locations, and number of stations of this project shall be subject to the official version of the "Feasibility Study Report for the Zhangzhou (Jiaomei) Extension Project of Xiamen Rail Transit Line 6".
