Recently, the right-line shield tunneling for the Dongwang Station–Nanwang Station section of the Shijiazhuang Metro Line 3 Phase I two-side section project was successfully launched, marking that the construction of the Shijiazhuang Metro Line 3 Phase I two-side section project has reached a climax.

　　According to the responsible person from China Railway 14th Bureau Group, which is in charge of the project, the shield tunnel section between Dongwang Station and Nanwang Station is located under the planned Tabei Road, with a spacing of 15.2 meters between the left and right lines. The driving direction for both the left and right tunnels is from Dongwang Station to Nanwang Station. The minimum curve radius of the alignment is 3,000 meters, the maximum longitudinal slope is 25.00‰, and the section length is 731.69 meters. This section is arranged along the planned Tabei Road, with the area above mainly being a demolition zone, and there is one residential building nearby that requires key protection. These factors have brought certain impacts on construction, and therefore high standards have been set for construction safety and quality.

　　It is also introduced that the Phase I two-side section project of Line 3 has a total length of 12.8 kilometers and consists of 11 stations: Xisanzhuang Station, Shuishang Park Station, Bolinzhuang Station, Shizhuang Station, East Square Station, Suncun Station, Tazhong Station, Dongwang Station, Nanwang Station, Weitong Station, and Sanjiaotang Station; there are 11 sections in total, all constructed by the shield method. The minimum station spacing of the project is about 0.89 kilometers (Tazhong Station to Dongwang Station), the maximum station spacing is about 1.57 kilometers (Shuishang Park Station to Bolinzhuang Station), and the average station spacing is about 1.15 kilometers. According to the plan, the project will achieve trial passenger operation by the end of 2020.

　　A responsible person from the Municipal Rail Transit Company stated that the main works of the Phase I two-side section project of Line 3 started comprehensively at the end of August 2016. On June 16 last year, the first shield machine was successfully launched at Tazhong Station. Currently, seven shield machines have arrived at the site and have all been launched, namely: the left and right lines of the Tazhong Station–Dongwang Station section, the left and right lines of the Suncun Station–Tazhong Station section, the right line of the Shuishang Park Station–Bolinzhuang Station section, the left line of the Xisanzhuang Station–Shuishang Park Station section, and the right line of the Dongwang Station–Nanwang Station section. By the end of 2017, the Phase I two-side section project of Line 3 had completed 60% of the total station main works and 40% of the total section works. The successful launch of the shield for the right line of the Dongwang Station–Nanwang Station section marks that the construction of the Phase I two-side section project of Shijiazhuang Metro Line 3 has reached a climax and laid a solid foundation for achieving the "tunnel breakthrough" goal of Shijiazhuang Rail Transit Line 3!
