By then, the Dujing Port Jialing River Bridge will become one of the important transportation hubs in the southeast of Nanchong's main urban area, strongly boosting the city's efforts to build a regional comprehensive modern transportation hub.

Busy Site: Accelerating the Construction of Dujing Port Jialing River Bridge

The scene was tense and busy. According to a technician on site, according to the plan, the Dujing Port Jialing River Bridge will be closed after the 2018 Spring Festival.

"There are 370 workers on site. The bridge is more than 70 meters high from the Jialing River surface to the top of the tower column, with piers over 40 meters high and tower columns 30.8 meters high," said Cheng Dinglin, assistant project manager of the Dujing Port Jialing River Bridge. At present, a cumulative investment of 830 million yuan has been completed, accounting for 74% of the total investment. The pile foundation construction of the bridge has been fully completed, and the construction of bridge piers and bent caps is 90% complete. A total of 320 precast box girders have been completed, accounting for 40% of the construction task. The Zhufeng Temple Tunnel has been fully connected, and the cast-in-place continuous box girder of the main bridge has completed 88 segments, accounting for 85% of the construction task.

It is reported that the Dujing Port Jialing River Bridge starts from the west side of Cuihu Lake on Wenfeng Avenue on the south bank of the Jialing River and ends in front of the sewage treatment plant on Jiangdong Avenue in Gaoping District. It has a total length of 3.4 kilometers, six lanes in both directions, and a road width of 30 meters. The main projects include a 1018-meter extra-large bridge, a 246-meter large and medium bridge, two interchange mainline bridges with a total length of 1319.5 meters, six ramp bridges with a total length of 802 meters, and a 307-meter tunnel. Among them, the main span of the Dujing Port Jialing River Bridge reaches 220 meters, the largest main span among the seven river-crossing bridges in the city. The Dujing Port Jialing River Bridge is constructed using the BT financing model. It started on March 30, 2015, and is expected to open to traffic by the end of 2018, with a total investment of 1.125 billion yuan.

Connecting Gaoping and Jialing to Promote Sound and Rapid Economic and Social Development

"The Dujing Port Jialing River Bridge is the first river-crossing bridge connecting Gaoping District and Jialing District. After completion, vehicles can directly travel between Gaoping District and Jialing District, greatly improving commuting efficiency between the two districts, stretching the urban framework, and alleviating traffic pressure across the river while promoting interconnection and economic development between Gaoping and Jialing districts," said Cheng Dinglin.

"Dujing Port is not only one of the important ports in Sichuan Province, but also an important gateway for the northwest region and northeast Sichuan to access the Yangtze River. It is also the foundation for building the characteristic economic and cultural industry of the Jialing River," said the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Transportation Bureau. After the completion of the Dujing Port Jialing River Bridge, it will not only improve the port's cargo throughput efficiency but also bring the city's silk and textile garment industry into a new fast track of development, creating favorable conditions for Nanchong and even the urban agglomeration of northeast Sichuan to develop modern logistics, Jialing River tourism, port-side industries, and export-oriented economy.

At the same time, in recent years, the city has also planned a number of major transportation projects.
