On December 28, 2017, the main works of the Beijing-Hebei and Hebei-Tianjin connecting sections of the Beijing-Qinhuangdao (Beijing to Qinhuangdao) Expressway, a key construction project in Hebei Province, were fully completed.
The Beijing-Hebei and Hebei-Tianjin connecting sections of the Beijing-Qinhuangdao Expressway total 5 kilometers in length, with 1 extra-large bridge, 3 large bridges, 2 interchange junctions, 2 separated interchanges, and 2 toll stations. The entire line is built to a two-way six-lane standard with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The project consists of two sections: the Beijing-Hebei connecting line and the Hebei-Tianjin connecting line. The Beijing-Hebei connecting line (located in Yanjiao Town) starts at the center of the Chaobai River at the Beijing-Hebei border and ends where the first phase of the Beijing-Qinhuangdao Expressway begins, with a total length of 1.2 kilometers and 1 Yanjiao West ramp toll station; the Hebei-Tianjin connecting line starts where the first phase of the Beijing-Qinhuangdao Expressway ends and terminates at the Hebei-Tianjin border, with a total length of 3.8 kilometers and 1 Jiangfushan ramp toll station.
The Beijing-Hebei and Hebei-Tianjin connecting sections of the Beijing-Qinhuangdao Expressway are landmark projects of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei transportation integration. Their completion has formed another rapid connection corridor linking Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei.
