To strengthen university-enterprise cooperation and jointly discuss future development plans, on the afternoon of December 8, 2017, Executive Vice Dean Hu Changbin of the College of Civil Engineering at Fuzhou University, along with a delegation of 44 faculty and student representatives, visited the comprehensive demonstration building at the Tieling Base of Fujian Academy of Building Research (FJABR) for an academic exchange. Vice President Zheng Minsheng of FJABR, Assistant to the President and Manager of the Science and Technology Production Management Department Xia Jian, representatives of the Academy's Science and Technology Committee, and departmental representatives attended the exchange meeting.
　　This meeting, taking the academic exchange between the Academy and the College of Civil Engineering at Fuzhou University as an opportunity, saw both sides engage in thorough exchange and discussion regarding their respective development status and future plans. The meeting was chaired by Assistant to the President and Manager of the Science and Technology Production Management Department Xia Jian, who first introduced the basic situation of the Academy and the development status of its structural specialty to the attending representatives. Three chief engineers of FJABR—Shi Feng, Huang Jinrong, and Wang Yunxin—then respectively introduced and exchanged views on the development status of the geotechnical and foundation specialty, building materials specialty, and building and energy efficiency specialty.
　　Subsequently, Dr. Zheng Zequn of the College of Civil Engineering at Fuzhou University introduced the basic situation of the National and Local Joint Research Center for Informatization of Earthquake Disaster Prevention and Mitigation in Civil Engineering. Professor Hu Changbin, Executive Vice Dean of the College of Civil Engineering at Fuzhou University, delivered a report titled "Introduction to the Construction of 'First-Class Discipline' and the 13th Five-Year Plan of the College of Civil Engineering," elaborating in detail on the overall approach to formulating the College's 13th Five-Year Plan from aspects including the College's basic situation, benchmarking analysis, construction planning, construction measures, and expected goals. Next, six faculty representatives from Fuzhou University—Yu Xin, Guan Zhenchang, Huang Qingwei, Huang Lipin, Ma Hongyan, and Kang Dejun—provided detailed introductions and exchanges on the various specialties of the College of Civil Engineering. 　　Finally, led by Director Wang Yunxin and Senior Engineer Chen Yiyu of FJABR, the delegation of faculty and student representatives from the College of Civil Engineering toured the Academy's comprehensive demonstration building and curtain wall laboratory.
　　All attendees expressed that this exchange meeting helped both sides enhance mutual understanding of each other's business and technological innovation, allowing both parties to learn from each other's strengths, carry out further cooperation on cutting-edge technological development directions in the construction industry, and jointly create a better future.
