On December 20, a groundbreaking mobilization meeting was held in Luoyang for the Mianchi–Luoning section (Luoyang territory) of the Mianchi–Xichuan Expressway and the Lianhuo–Erguang Expressway Link (Xin'an–Yichuan Expressway) project.
It is reported that the Mianchi–Luoning section (Luoyang territory) of the Mianchi–Xichuan Expressway starts in Mianchi County, Sanmenxia, connecting north to the planned Mianchi–Yuanqu Expressway and intersecting with the Lianhuo Expressway. It runs south through the east of the Guoyuan Industry and Trade Zone in Mianchi County into the east of Hedi Township in Luoning County and the west of Sanxiang Township in Yiyang County, and connects at the north of Wenzhuang in Chengjiao Township, Luoning County, with the already-open Zhenglu Expressway, where the project ends. The route is 40.112 km long, with an estimated total investment of 5.861 billion yuan. It is scheduled to open to traffic in 2020. The construction of this project will add an important north-south corridor in the mountainous area of western Henan, and will play an important role in enhancing the image of the cities and counties along the route, optimizing the investment environment, improving transportation conditions, and promoting local socioeconomic development and tourism.
The Lianhuo–Erguang Expressway Link (Xin'an–Yichuan Expressway) project starts in Tiemen Town, Xin'an County, Luoyang, connecting with the Lianhuo Expressway. It passes through Yanzhen Township, Shiling Township, Liuquan Town, Zhaobao Township and Baiyang Township in Yiyang County, and Pingdeng Township, Baiyuan Township and Baisha Township in Yichuan County, and ends at its intersection with the Erguang Expressway. The route is 81.34 km long, with an estimated investment of 9.526 billion yuan. It is scheduled to open to traffic in 2020. The construction of this project will form a second ring expressway in southwestern Luoyang, improve road network efficiency, and ease the pressure of transit traffic on Luoyang's expressways. It will strengthen industrial linkage, transport connections and ecological coordination between Luoyang's central urban area and the six clusters of Yanshi, Yichuan, Yiyang, Xin'an, Mengjin and Jili, and is of great significance for enhancing the locational advantages of Luoyang as a sub-central city.
