On the 12th, reporters learned from the provincial Development and Reform Commission website that the feasibility plan for the Xi'an-Hancheng Intercity Railway project has been approved. The intercity railway will build 9 new stations including Yanliang West, Fuping South, and Hancheng South, with a planned transport capacity of 15 million passengers per year and a planned construction period of 4 years.

According to the reply from the provincial Development and Reform Commission to the Provincial Railway Group Co., Ltd. regarding the feasibility study report of the Xi'an-Hancheng Intercity Railway: in order to support the economic and social development of the Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration and Greater Xi'an, promote regional coordination and urbanization along the route, and further improve the modern comprehensive transportation system, in accordance with the "Reply of the National Development and Reform Commission on the Guanzhong Urban Agglomeration Intercity Railway Network Plan (2014-2020)" and the "Letter from the General Office of the National Development and Reform Commission on Adjusting the Planning and Construction Schedule of the Xi'an-Hancheng Intercity Railway" (Fa Gai Ban Ji Chu [2017] No. 1380), the implementation of the Xi'an-Hancheng Intercity Railway project is agreed.

The approved Xi'an-Hancheng Intercity Railway starts from Duli Town, Sanyuan County (connecting with the Yanliang-Airport Intercity Railway), and passes through Lintong, Yanliang, Fuping, Pucheng, Chengcheng, and Heyang to the project terminus in Hancheng City, with a main line length of 176 kilometers. The project is implemented in two phases. Phase I implements the Yanliang North to Hancheng South section, with a main line length of 155.07 kilometers and a connecting line length of 14.50 kilometers. The entire line will build 9 new stations: Yanliang West, Yanliang North, Fuping South, Luyang Lake, Pucheng South, Sunzhen East, Chengcheng South, Heyang East, and Hancheng South. According to the double-track standard, the intercity railway is designed for a speed of 200 kilometers per hour, and consideration is given to reserving conditions for a speed increase to 250 kilometers per hour to connect with high-speed rail. The planned transport capacity is 15 million passengers per year.
