During this year's National Day holiday, drivers traveling on the Ningdu-Dingnan Expressway in Ganzhou will notice many smart devices along the road, such as overhead traffic information boards and intelligent monitoring equipment on special sections like slopes and tunnels. This is the first smart expressway built in our province.

　　The Ningdu-Dingnan Expressway starts at the connection with the Changning (Nanchang-Ningdu) Expressway and ends near the Laocheng Toll Station of the Daguang Expressway (Jiangxi-Guangdong border) via the Dingnan Link.

　　Driving south from Nanchang along the Changning-Ningding Expressway, in Anyuan County at the foot of Sanbaishan Mountain, the source of the Dongjiang River, a smart service area integrating leisure, shopping, refueling and other services—the Sanbaishan Service Area—has emerged. Within a 1-kilometer radius before entering the service area, drivers can easily learn about the service area's foot traffic, parking spaces, and gas station queues through information boards, allowing them to make advance judgments. After entering the service area, the entrance intelligent parking guidance system will direct vehicles to automatically enter empty spaces. Vehicles entering the service area are automatically connected to the free WiFi, and drivers and passengers can query the service area's functional layout and real-time traffic conditions of the province's expressways through self-service terminals in the service hall.

　　Smart Road Network Monitoring Alerts Vehicles of Over-temperature and Over-pressure

　　Traveling on the Ningding Expressway, on special sections such as high slopes, tunnels, extra-long longitudinal slopes, hub interchanges, and fog areas, monitoring devices collect basic data on expressway operations. On extra-long longitudinal slope sections, the monitoring system can real-time monitor the speed, tire pressure, tire temperature, and cabin temperature of passing trucks. When over-temperature or over-pressure occurs, the information boards, flashing warning lights, and directional broadcasting systems ahead will alert passing vehicles and guide them to safe areas.

　　The Ningding Expressway has established a rapid emergency rescue and command dispatch system. When an accident occurs, after the driver calls the police, the emergency command platform can accurately locate the accident vehicle, predict traffic congestion, and based on the congestion situation of the accident section, initiate a traffic diversion plan. It automatically pushes text messages to vehicles behind and provides information board prompts to remind vehicles to bypass the congested section, reducing traffic pressure in the accident area.
