At the construction site of the north wharf in the Yexian Port Area, excavators and dump trucks are clearing earthwork.
On July 12, pile foundation construction was fully completed at both the north and south wharves of the Yexian Port Area, and the two cargo yards are under accelerated construction.
The Yexian Port Area project mainly consists of five parts: the south wharf, north wharf, south cargo yard, north cargo yard, and the navigation channel. At present, construction of a total of 584 piles for the north and south wharves has been completed. Next, columns, transverse tie beams, roof slabs, and wharf loading/unloading equipment will be erected and installed at the wharves; the north and south cargo yards will have their surfaces hardened and cargo transport equipment installed. At the construction site of the north wharf in the Yexian Port Area, located near the Shahe River Bridge on Shenma Avenue, the reporter saw two rows of newly completed piles standing tall, while excavators and dump trucks nearby were clearing earthwork.
According to the plan, the Pingdingshan section of the Shahe River navigation resumption project is a provincial and municipal key project, with a planned investment of 502 million yuan and a construction period of 30 months. The project is planned as a Class IV navigation channel, designed for a maximum vessel size of 500 tonnes; it includes two anchorage berths, one bridge reconstruction, and one new port area. The port area is divided into a bulk cargo zone and a chemical zone, with a total of 11 planned 500-tonne berths, including 6 berths in the bulk cargo zone located within the High-tech Zone and 5 berths in the chemical zone located within Yexian County. Once the Shahe River navigation resumption project is completed, it will connect the city's river navigation channel through the Luohe Port and Zhoukou Port with the water transport system of East China, forming a comprehensive transportation system integrating highways, railways, and waterways. It is of great significance for the outbound transport of bulk goods such as coal and building materials and the inbound transport of goods in Pingdingshan City.
