On July 1, the construction drawing design review meeting for the East Artificial Island of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link and the tunnels within its scope, including the cofferdam-built tunnel section, designed by CCCC Highway Consultants Co., Ltd., was held in Guangzhou. The meeting invited 11 renowned domestic and international experts in underground and hydraulic engineering, led by Xu Guang, former Chief Engineer of the Ministry of Transport.
At the meeting, relevant leaders and experts heard reports from CCCC Highway Consultants on the detailed geological survey of the island-tunnel section of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link and the construction drawing design of the airport interchange ramp tunnel, as well as reports from the consulting unit on the construction drawing design consultation. The experts held that the construction drawing design documents prepared by the design unit are based on sufficient grounds with detailed basic data, adopt appropriate main technical standards, codes and specifications, and well implement the preliminary design review opinions of the Ministry of Transport. The engineering scheme is generally feasible and complete in content, and its depth meets the relevant requirements of the regulations issued by the Ministry of Transport. After modification and improvement, it can serve as the basis for project implementation.
The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Cross-River Link Project (referred to as the "Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link") is a major infrastructure project defined in the Outline of the Plan for the Reform and Development of the Pearl River Delta Region (2008-2020) approved by the State Council, and is a key project of National Expressway G2518 (Shenzhen to Cenxi, Guangxi) crossing the Pearl River Estuary. The project is about 30 kilometers north of the Humen Bridge and about 38 kilometers south of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, with a total length of 23.977 kilometers, of which the bridge length is 17,034 meters. It adopts a two-way eight-lane design standard, with a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour, a design service life of 100 years, and a total investment of about 46 billion yuan.
