Recently, as the massive shield machine's cutterhead successfully "emerged", the shield machine in the section from Yaquehu Station to Changsha University Station of the Phase I project of Changsha Metro Line 3 broke through the wall and successfully reached the receiving shaft on the right line at Changsha University Station, marking the successful completion of another shield tunnel on Metro Line 3.
According to the on-site person in charge of the construction unit, the shield machine was launched from Changsha University Station on September 28, 2016. After 279 days, it excavated 1,622 meters in 1,082 rings, successfully crossing the Liuyang River, Ocean Peninsula Shop Building B, and Hongshan Bridge. The reporter entered the right-line tunnel of the Yachang section from the shield launching shaft. At this time, a row of construction lighting lamps was lit on the upper right side of the completed right-line tunnel. From top to bottom and from left to right, the tunnel was firmly secured by segments, like a layer of "impregnable fortress". The inner diameter of the tunnel is 5.4 meters, nearly two stories high, and the tunnel extends 1,622 meters forward to the receiving shaft.
It is reported that the left line of the section from Yaquehu Station to Changsha University Station of the Phase I project of Changsha Metro Line 3 is planned to be completed by the end of July. After another 5 months of shield construction, the tunnel in the section from Changsha University Station to North Yuehu Park Station will be completed.
