There are currently 28 projects under construction in the Haicang Sponge City pilot area. The renovation of various sponge roads is continuing, with the sponge renovation of Canglin East 2nd Road set to be completed by the end of this month.
At Canglin East 2nd Road in Haicang, the reporter observed that permeable bricks have been laid on the sidewalks and non-motorized vehicle lanes of this road located in a densely populated residential area. According to reports, Canglin East 2nd Road has a total length of 330 meters, with many residential communities, shops and schools distributed along it, heavy passing vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and a tendency to experience waterlogging in summer. This renovation covers an area of about 3,200 square meters and uses new high-performance ecological sand-based permeable bricks. The permeability rate exceeds the national standard, and the bricks can retain dust, fine sand and impurities from initial rainwater on the surface, making them resistant to clogging.

In addition to Canglin East 2nd Road, sponge road renovation projects at multiple waterlogging-prone road sections, villages and enterprises, including the interchange connecting Maqing Road and Xinyang Bridge in Haicang, Xin'an Village and Xiayang Village, are also under construction or planned.
According to statistics, 131 construction projects are planned for completion in the Haicang Sponge City pilot area. To date, 33 have been completed and 28 are under construction.
