Recently, the Jin'an Jinsha River Bridge officially began construction in Lijiang. The bridge site is located 1.4 kilometers upstream of the Jin'anqiao Hydropower Station dam, 40 kilometers from the Lijiang urban area. The Jin'an Jinsha River Bridge is the world's longest-span mountain suspension bridge to date. The Jin'an Jinsha River Bridge is a controlling project of the Huaping-Lijiang section of the G4216 Chengdu-Lijiang Expressway in the national expressway network. The main bridge is a double-tower, double-cable-plane, single-span simply supported plate-truss composite stiffening girder suspension bridge with a main span of 1,386 meters; the Huaping-side side span is a 320-meter span structure without suspended hangers, and the Lijiang side is a 205-meter span structure without suspended hangers.

The reporter learned that the Huali Expressway starts at Rongjiang Town in Huaping County, connecting with the Rongjiang-Panzhihua Expressway under construction, and ends at Lashi Lake in Lijiang, intersecting with the Dali-Lijiang Expressway. It has a total length of about 153 kilometers, four lanes in both directions, and a design speed of 80 kilometers per hour. After the Huali Expressway is completed and opened to traffic, the drive from Lijiang to Chengdu will be shortened to about 8 hours. The Huaping-Lijiang Expressway is part of the G4216 Chengdu-Lijiang Expressway in the national expressway network, and is an important artery for Lijiang to connect south to Dali and ASEAN, north to Diqing and the Tibetan region, east via Huaping into Sichuan and Chongqing, and west via Baoshan to South Asia.
