At the same time as Premier Li Keqiang delivered the Government Work Report, a survey used the real personal experiences of over 570,000 respondents to describe the people's 'sense of gain' regarding the central government's policies over the past year.
The 'China Economic Life Survey (2016-2017)' released by CCTV shows that 55.28% of respondents expect their income to increase in 2017, and 13.52% expect their household income to grow by more than 20% this year.
'The proportion of respondents expecting high household income growth is the highest in five years, showing the people's full confidence in a 'moderately prosperous society in all respects,'' a commentary interpreted.
More specific data support the Premier's review in the Government Work Report that 'the people's sense of gain has increased.' The survey shows that the proportion of low-income people feeling happy in 2016 far exceeded that in 2014; 55.01% of rural respondents believe their income will increase in 2017; and provinces with concentrated key counties for poverty alleviation and development, such as Qinghai and Tibet, rank among the top nationwide in income confidence index, demonstrating the people's sense of gain from policies to improve livelihoods, targeted poverty alleviation, and support for agriculture and farmers.
The Premier's proposal of 'mass entrepreneurship and innovation' has also opened a 'green channel' for more young people to realize their dreams. Data shows that young people born in the 1990s account for the highest proportion, 16.06%, among those expecting income growth of more than 20%. Among respondents with entrepreneurial intentions, 30.03% expect income growth of more than 20%, twice as many as those without entrepreneurial intentions.
In another big data analysis based on over 300,000 pieces of information from media, Weibo, WeChat, forums, etc., '4.5 million new market entities every day,' 'over 3.8 million rural dilapidated houses renovated,' 'enterprise tax burden reduced by over 570 billion yuan for the year,' '192 approval intermediary service items cleaned up and standardized,' and 'Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect launched' became the policy measures with the strongest 'sense of gain' among netizens in the main work of last year listed in this year's Government Work Report.
Analysis says that 98.69% of netizens gave favorable comments on the 'Review of Work in 2016' in this year's Government Work Report, highly recognizing the 'report card' of China's development achieving a good start for the '13th Five-Year Plan' despite severe challenges from overlapping domestic and international contradictions and risks. All 32 specific quantitative indicators covering economic development, livelihood improvement, social development, and ecological environmental protection in last year's Government Work Report were completed, and netizens praised the central government for 'keeping its word and taking resolute action.'
'Over 99.68% of netizens liked '4.5 million new market entities every day,' and satisfaction with the continuous advancement of infrastructure construction and rural dilapidated house renovation projects exceeded 99%.' The big data analysis report shows that 'netizens have the highest 'sense of gain' regarding the effectiveness of work in 2016 in advancing infrastructure construction, mass entrepreneurship and innovation, deepening the reform of 'streamlining administration, delegating powers, and improving services,' and raising residents' living standards.'
As for the deployment of key tasks for 2017, 97.68% of netizens expressed high recognition. Among them, work arrangements closely related to people's livelihoods such as employment, education, medical care, elderly care, and housing, especially when a series of livelihood packages such as 'speed up and reduce fees' will be implemented, are of greatest concern to netizens.
Analysis says: 'Netizens expect all localities and departments to ensure implementation, so that the policy benefits of the Government Work Report are truly 'visible and tangible.''
In fact, during activities during the Two Sessions, Premier Li Keqiang has responded to these concerns and expectations. When participating in the deliberation of the Tibet delegation, he emphasized: 'This year's Government Work Report specifically includes 'reflect the hard truth of development more in improving people's well-being,' so that the masses can feel that life is meaningful and the future is promising!'
