On March 1, it was learned from the Alxa League Development and Reform Commission that the league's key construction projects for this year have been determined. There are 138 projects in four major categories, with a total investment of 141 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 40 billion yuan. The number of projects has increased by 52 over last year, and the annual investment amount is 2.9 billion yuan more than the actual completed investment in 2016, an increase of 7.8%.

Unlike in the past, this year's key projects and major preliminary projects have been reclassified according to new industry standards into four major categories: 44 infrastructure "seven networks" construction projects, including railway networks, highway networks, aviation networks, and water conservancy networks, with a total investment of 67.72 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 14.4 billion yuan; 64 industrial transformation and upgrading projects, including agricultural and livestock modernization, strategic emerging industries, and modern service industries, with a total investment of 64.94 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 19.47 billion yuan; 15 ecological and environmental protection projects, including environmental governance and protection projects and key energy-saving and circular economy projects, with a total investment of 2.81 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 1.54 billion yuan; and 15 social and livelihood projects, including culture, education, and health, with a total investment of 5.57 billion yuan and an annual planned investment of 4.63 billion yuan.

In terms of "seven networks" construction, railway network construction includes five projects: the Bayanhot-Yinchuan railway project, with a total length of 102 kilometers, including 91 kilometers of newly built line; the Jilantai-Chagandaris railway project, with a total length of 94.761 kilometers; the railway dedicated line project of the Mongolia-Ningxia Trade Cooperation Zone, with 16.3 kilometers of railway line; as well as the capacity expansion and renovation project of the Jiayuguan-Ceke railway and the Ceke Port railway connecting line project.

Highway network construction includes nine projects: five new projects, including the Bayan Huduge-Bayanhot section of the G1817 Uba Expressway, the S33 Aolunbulage-Bayinmuren Expressway, the S228 Badain Jaran Town-Jinchang (Mongolia-Gansu border) highway, the Bayanhot-Temotu (Heroes Meeting) highway, and the Ulan Buh-Aolunbulage highway; and four continued projects, including the Linhe-Bagede section of the Beijing-Xinjiang Expressway (within Alxa League), the G307 Bayan Nurigong-Menggen first-class (single carriageway) highway, the G307 Menggen-Yabulai first-class (single carriageway) highway, and the S218 Changliushui-Zhongwei (Mongolia-Ningxia border) first-class highway.

Aviation network construction includes one project, namely the Alxa Right Banner Airport flight area upgrade and renovation project.

Water conservancy network construction includes three projects: two new projects, namely the Alxa League section of the second phase flood control project of the Inner Mongolia section of the Yellow River and the Alxa League 2017 central and western water-saving and efficiency-enhancing project; and one continued project, namely the water supply project of the Tengger Economic and Technological Development Zone.

Municipal network construction includes 22 projects, with a total investment of 6.82044 billion yuan, including 19 new projects such as the Alxa League Planning Exhibition Hall construction project, the Alxa Convention and Exhibition Center construction project, the Bayanhot Art City construction project, and urban theme park construction projects such as the Bayanhot Aobao Park in Alxa Left Banner; and three continued projects such as the Bayanhot Dingxiang Ecological Park construction project in Alxa Left Banner, the Wuliji Port infrastructure construction and supporting project, and the municipal road supporting facilities project of Binhe Jinsha Company's Grape Family.

Energy network construction includes four projects: the Alateng Aobao 220 kV switching station power transmission and transformation project (Alxa League section), the Alateng Aobao switching station-Yihe Huduge (Alxa Right Banner) 220 kV line project, the Suhongtu 220 kV power transmission and transformation project, and the Wuliji Port 110 kV power transmission and transformation project.

The implementation of these projects is an important measure for Alxa League to stabilize growth, shore up weak links, and strengthen staying power, and is of great significance for achieving a strong start in the first quarter of this year and the smooth implementation of the "13th Five-Year Plan."
