The paper collection work for the 7th Deep Foundation Engineering Development Forum, which began last December, was successfully concluded on February 10, 2017. The forum is hosted by the Deep Foundation and Underground Space Engineering Branch of the China Construction Industry Association, the China Piling Machinery Association (Society), and the Pile Foundation Academic Committee of the Geotechnical Engineering Branch of the China Civil Engineering Society; organized by Beijing Jinshan Foundation Engineering Consulting Co., Ltd.; co-organized by Fujian Jianzhuan Geotechnical Engineering Co., Ltd., Fujian Yongqiang Geotechnical Co., Ltd., and Shanghai Yuanfang Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd.; and supported by dozens of enterprises, industry associations, and universities, including the China Foundation Engineering Technology Innovation Alliance, the Hong Kong Geotechnical Engineering Association, the Geotechnical Technology Research and Development Foundation, Tsinghua University, and Tianjin University. This call for papers received strong support and enthusiastic submissions from professors, experts, scholars, entrepreneurs, and engineering technicians in deep foundation engineering, piling machinery, universities, research institutions, and related industries. A large number of papers have been received so far, far exceeding expectations. After review by the forum academic committee, 73 papers have now been selected for inclusion. These papers mainly fall into four categories: pile and diaphragm wall engineering, deep foundation pits and protection of adjacent buildings, composite foundations and ground treatment, and monitoring, machinery, and management technologies. The papers are of good quality and cover theories, academic research, new technologies, new processes, new equipment, and construction cases in the field of deep foundation engineering. The paper collection work has thus successfully concluded.
