On December 15, as the first guide pile was slowly driven into the water, it marked the official start of construction of the approach bridge for the Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal follow-up project undertaken by the Second Company of CCCC Third Harbor Engineering. The approach bridge is 15 meters wide and about 651.85 meters long, and is divided into two sections by structure. The first section is 424.375 meters long and is arranged with spans aligned to those of the approach bridge of the original Phase I project, with a bridge configuration consistent with that of the Phase I approach bridge. The second section connects flush with the already-built Phase I customs clearance platform, and its end connects to the newly built follow-up project terminal platform, with a length of about 227.475 meters. Once completed, the approach bridge will greatly relieve the pressure on the existing approach bridge during peak passenger flow periods.
