As one of Hunan Province's residential industrialization bases, the Yongzhou Municipal Housing and Urban-Rural Development Bureau has vigorously advanced reform of construction methods and promoted new technologies and processes such as prefabricated building. Currently, the Yongzhou Avenue utility tunnel project has been listed among the province's first batch of urban underground utility tunnel pilot projects and is the first to use the "key industrialized technology for assembled monolithic utility tunnels."
The "key industrialized technology for assembled monolithic utility tunnels" was developed by Hunan University Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. and has been submitted to the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology as a key applied basic research project. Through comparative research on existing cast-in-place and segmental precast construction methods for utility tunnels, and by drawing on the concept of precast components for residential industrialization, the company pioneered the industrialized construction technology for assembled monolithic utility tunnels. Its precast components are divided into three main parts: the base slab, double-skin wall, and composite roof slab, all produced automatically on factory assembly lines. Compared with monolithic cast-in-place construction, this technology can reduce foundation pit excavation by 20%, shorten the construction period by 40%, and lower costs by 5%; compared with segmental precast construction, the components are lighter and easier to transport and install, while the joints, walls, and roof slab composite layers are cast in place on site, providing better integrity and waterproof performance. The application of this new technology can minimize traffic impact.
Currently, the assembled monolithic construction technology for the Yongzhou Avenue utility tunnel is undergoing laboratory model testing and will soon be applied in the construction of the Yongzhou Avenue utility tunnel. Through the application of this new technology, Yongzhou will be built into a provincial demonstration base for industrialized utility tunnel production.
