On June 5, accompanied by the crackling of firecrackers and the roar of excavators digging, the wastewater treatment plant project of the 75th Regiment, Fourth Division, Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps officially broke ground. This project is not only a key livelihood project for the regiment but also brings good news to all cadres, workers, and residents.
In recent years, with the rapid development of the regiment's economy, the volume of wastewater generated by industrial production and the daily life of cadres, workers, and residents in the 75th Regiment has increased significantly. Wastewater discharge within the regiment's jurisdiction has become a new environmental problem, making the construction of a wastewater treatment plant an urgent priority that responds to public demands and ensures sustainable development.
According to staff from the regiment's Construction Section, the wastewater treatment plant project is part of the 75th Regiment's comprehensive environmental improvement project. The plant is located in the regiment's No. 6 Company Industrial Park, covering an area of 7 mu. The project is a key construction project approved by the Development and Reform Commission of the Fourth Division and Shihezi City in 2016, with a total investment of 7.8 million yuan. The wastewater treatment process adopts a new biological contact oxidation process; the sludge treatment process uses mechanical thickening and dewatering machines. The daily treatment capacity is 1,200 cubic meters, and the tailwater will be discharged into the Xata River.
It is reported that the wastewater treatment project is a public utility project that protects the environment, improves the quality of life of cadres, workers, and residents, raises the level of infrastructure, and benefits future generations. The wastewater treatment plant is expected to be put into use in December, at which point the regiment will end the history of untreated, unorganized discharge of domestic and production wastewater and open a new chapter in achieving compliant discharge of domestic and production wastewater in the regiment's small town.
