Recently, the 'Work Safety Month' event of Beijing's housing construction system was launched at the construction site of the 'China Zun' project in the CBD core area. This high-rise under construction is climbing skyward at a rate of one floor every 3.5 days, and is expected to surpass the 330-meter China World Trade Center Tower III in August this year to become Beijing's tallest building. According to the plan, 'China Zun' will be completed and delivered for use in October 2018.

The 'China Zun' project is located in Plot Z15 of the CBD core area in Chaoyang District, with a total construction area of 437,000 square meters, a height of 528 meters, 7 underground floors and 108 above-ground floors. It integrates Grade-A office space, conference, sightseeing and various supporting service functions, and will become Beijing's tallest building upon completion. This is the world's first skyscraper over 500 meters in a seismic fortification intensity 8 zone. The project started construction at the end of last year and has now reached the 50th floor, about 265 meters, and is expected to top out structurally in July 2017.

The 'China Zun' tower has the shortest construction period among domestic super high-rise buildings over 500 meters, only 62 months. Traditional construction methods can hardly meet the requirements for safety, quality and schedule, so the project adopted the intelligent construction equipment integration platform system for super high-rise buildings independently developed by the contractor China Construction Third Engineering Bureau. On the nearly 300-meter-high platform, four tower cranes continuously rotate their jibs to transport materials. The bases of two tower cranes are fixed on the platform, and the fixed cranes are supported by special jacks from four directions at the top to eliminate the impact of wind on the cranes. According to a person in charge from China Construction Third Engineering Bureau, super high-rise buildings like 'China Zun' generally require 5 to 7 days per floor, but with the 'intelligent platform', 'China Zun' rises an average of one floor every 3.5 days.

China Zun, which officially started construction in July 2013, once completed a one-time pouring of 56,000 cubic meters of foundation slab concrete in 93 hours, setting a new record in the capital. The China Zun project is 528 meters high, with a total construction area of 437,000 square meters, 7 underground floors and 108 above-ground floors. It integrates Grade-A office space, conference, sightseeing and various supporting service functions, and is the world's first super high-rise building over 500 meters constructed in a seismic fortification intensity 8 zone. It adopts a hybrid structural system of 'core tube + mega columns + mega diagonal braces + belt trusses', with steel consumption per structural floor more than 50% higher than similar super high-rise projects. The steel components used in the project are pre-assembled and transported to Beijing from Tianjin, Jiangsu, Shanghai and other places, with a total volume exceeding 140,000 tons.
