How to Lay Out Landslide Monitoring Points on Construction Sites

1. Observation points on the landslide surface should be evenly distributed. In areas with larger sliding displacement and faster sliding speed, the number of points should be appropriately increased.
2. Observation points should be installed both in stable areas outside the landslide perimeter and in stable areas within the perimeter.
3. When the main sliding direction and sliding range are clearly defined, a cross-shaped or grid-shaped planar point layout may be selected according to the scale of the landslide. When the main sliding direction and sliding range are unclear, a radial planar point layout may be adopted according to site conditions.
4. When deep displacement of the landslide body needs to be measured, the borehole positions for observation points should be laid out along the main sliding axis, and observations may be made of local sliding on the landslide body and possible multi-layer sliding surfaces.
5. For landslides that have been reinforced, stress gauges and observation points should be installed on the main load-bearing components of their retaining and anchoring structures.
