Improving the urban road network and alleviating traffic congestion are key components of Luoyang's major livelihood projects announced this year. Yesterday, the reporter learned from the Municipal Housing and Construction Commission that in 2016, the Luobei urban area plans to implement 65 municipal infrastructure projects with a total estimated investment of 8.77 billion yuan, including 4.31 billion yuan planned for 2016, involving 21 new projects, 43 continuing projects, and 1 preliminary project.

　　This year, after the implementation of new projects such as the east section reconstruction and expansion of National Highway 310, the Zhujiang Road underpass tunnel beneath the Luo River, and the major repair of Wuhan Road, the daily travel conditions of residents will be greatly improved, the urban road network will be perfected, traffic congestion will be alleviated, and it will play a driving role in accelerating the construction of a modern infrastructure system in Luoyang.

　　● Hanggong Road middle section project, from Guohua Road in the west to Dingding North Road in the east, total length 2.1 km

　　● Penglai Road (Phase II) construction project, from Wuhan Road in the west to Zhengzhou Road in the east, 0.7 km long

　　● Zhujiang Road underpass tunnel beneath the Luo River project, starting in Luobei urban area on the north side of Zhainan First Road, passing under Binhe North Road, the Luo River, and Binhe South Road, then emerging on the west side of the artificial lake, with the underpass section beneath the Luo River 1.3 km long

　　● Zhengzhou-Lushi Expressway Jiudu West Road connector and West Ring Road interchange project, from Jiudu Road in the north to the expressway connector in the west, utilizing the existing bridge of the Jiudu West Road expressway connector to design an underpass ramp, and designing a ramp on the north side of Jiudu West Road to connect with the West Ring Road, while building 3 new ramp bridges crossing the West Ring Road, 1 new parallel bridge where the West Ring Road crosses Zhangluoping Gully, and 1 ramp underpass box culvert
