吉隆坡时间6月2日14时58分，中国在马来西亚的首台盾构，在吉隆坡地铁成功始发。该工程由中国中铁港航局三公司承建施工。据悉，盾构机将从North Portal(北洞口)始发经(中央风井)、KL Sentral(中央车站)至Pasar Seni(帕萨塞尼)站吊出。
该盾构机编号为“中铁50号”，是中国中铁针对吉隆坡地质地层情况量身定做的复合型土压平衡盾构机，开挖直径6.67米，主驱动功率4000 KW。
MRT USPA区间隧道北线工程是中铁港航局三公司2010年10月重组以来承揽的首项海外工程，是该公司实现“搭船出海”、开拓海外市场的重要战略项目。目前，该项目正以国际项目管理模式为目标，结合不同工程特点，努力探索一条具有中西特色相结合的项目运作模式，为中铁港航局集团及三公司进一步拓展海外建筑市场积累经验、奠定基础。
