The project is advancing in an orderly manner, with pile foundation work expected to be completed on May 7, after which it will move into the foundation pit excavation stage. As a key construction project in the province, once completed, the National South China Sea Museum will become a national-level large-scale maritime culture and historical culture scenic area, as well as a research and exhibition center for the history and current status of the South China Sea Maritime Silk Road and the countries around the South China Sea.
The National South China Sea Museum, located at the Tanmen Central Fishing Port, held its foundation stone laying ceremony last November. Pile driving is currently being intensified, with pile foundation work expected to be completed on May 7, after which foundation pit excavation will begin. In terms of exhibition, the exhibition design and construction bidding work is expected to be completed by the end of September, with full exhibition construction to begin in October and the museum opening in early 2017. A responsible person from the project construction unit stated that they will complete the construction task of the National South China Sea Museum with guaranteed quality and quantity, striving to complete it before the Spring Festival next year.
