On March 15, the preliminary survey work for the Donglantuo Bridge Project crossing the Ligang Railway, the first railway survey and design project undertaken by the Survey and Design Institute of China Railway 18th Bureau Group, officially commenced drilling, marking the institute's successful entry into the railway survey and design market.
The survey and design task for the Donglantuo Bridge Project crossing the Ligang Railway undertaken by the institute covers railway crossing chainages from G1K0+357.418 to KGK27+944.7. The bridge survey and design starts at chainage K0+137.3 and ends at chainage K0+688.3, with a total length of 551 m. The span arrangement consists of (3x25+4x25+4x30+4x25+3x25+3x25) m prestressed concrete (post-tensioned) small box girders. A total of 28 survey boreholes with a total drilling length of 1,425 m are required for the survey and design task. After receiving the survey and design assignment, the institute's leadership attached great importance to it and immediately assembled a team of highly qualified professionals to conduct on-site geological investigations, collect relevant basic data, formulate a work plan, prepare the "Survey Outline," and promptly commence work. Through on-site borehole sampling, survey, and analysis, a detailed evaluation was made of the geotechnical parameters, geological structure, and physical and mechanical properties of the proposed bridge, providing important technical support for the subsequent bridge construction design scheme.
The Donglantuo Bridge Project crossing the Ligang Railway is the first railway survey and design task undertaken by the institute. The launch of this survey and design project is of great historical significance for successfully entering the railway survey and design field and maintaining the group company's Grade B geotechnical engineering survey qualification and Grade A-II railway industry design qualification. It also lays a solid foundation for the institute to further expand its presence in the railway survey and design market.
