Clear Mud Powder (Chemical Mud) is based on modified high-molecular polymers and is formulated with various additives such as wall-protecting agents, anti-seepage agents, and stabilizers. By drawing on relatively mature mud-making processes in rotary drilling construction abroad and combining them with actual domestic application conditions, the product has been continuously improved.
I. Main Performance:
The slurry formed by Clear Mud Powder (Chemical Mud) not only has good wall-protecting and anti-collapse effects but also adsorbs drill cuttings. The thickness of sediment in the hole generally does not exceed 10 cm. Depending on actual conditions, secondary hole cleaning may not be required. Moreover, the mud body contains no drill cuttings, and the friction layer on the hole wall thickens, which can effectively improve the friction bearing capacity of the pile. Verified at multiple construction sites, bored piles using Clear Mud Powder have achieved a 98% rate of Class I piles upon inspection. It is non-toxic, odorless, and harmless to the environment.
II. Usage Steps and Precautions
1. Clear Mud Powder can be directly poured into the hole along with the jetting water, dissolving quickly to form a slurry with good viscosity (timely mud making). This is particularly suitable for municipal construction sites with limited space.
2. Alternatively, Clear Mud Powder can be flushed into the mud tank along with the jetting water flow, circulated by pumping out and into the mud circulation pump, and then injected into the hole.
3. According to local water quality and actual usage conditions, adjust the pH value using an aqueous solution of caustic soda (or soda ash). Generally, the amount of caustic soda added is 1/2 of the mud powder. A pH value between 8 and 10 is recommended for better results.
4. For the last 1-2 drilling strokes before final hole formation, allow the mud to stand for about 20 minutes before completing the hole.
5. Avoid repairing the drill bit during the hole-forming process as much as possible.
6. The slurry level must never be lower than 1 m below the ground surface, and half-hole slurry for hole formation must not be used, because the pressure decreases with half-hole slurry, reducing the wall-protecting capacity; at the same time, during concrete pouring, formations not soaked by the slurry are highly likely to collapse.
7. The reinforcement cage must be lowered centrally to prevent damage to the hole wall.
8. Do not mix with bentonite mud.
III. Dosage
The mud powder ratio is prepared at 0.01%-0.1%, depending on the geology and actual conditions of each site.
